Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 oz. egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • ½ cup beef broth (if using cornstarch)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Substitutions and Variations

  • Beef: Feel free to substitute with chicken or tofu.
  • Broccoli: Try using broccoli rabe or broccolini for a twist.
  • Noodles: Rice noodles, udon, or soba can work as substitutes.
  • Spice level: Adjust sriracha to your desired heat level.

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in the preheated wok. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until just browned (about 2-3 minutes). Remove the beef and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: Add the remaining vegetable oil to the wok, along with the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Step 3: Add the broccoli florets and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  4. Step 4: Return the beef to the wok. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sriracha sauce in a bowl. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables.
  5. Step 5: Toss in the cooked noodles and pour sesame oil over them. Stir everything together until the noodles are well-coated and heated through (about 2 minutes).
  6. Optional Step: If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with ½ cup of beef broth. Add this to the wok during Step 5, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  7. Step 6: Finally, sprinkle the sliced green onions over the dish. Give everything a final toss and remove from heat.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the beef. It should remain tender and juicy.
